Explaining Social Media Post Impact Scores

For social media monitoring to be as effective as possible, brands need to understand the effort that went into creating a post in which they are mentioned.
amaSocial offers impact scores to help clients gauge the effort invested in a post that pertains to them.
The impact score of a post rates the "effort" or amount of thought, time and energy that went into creating it. In contrast with traditional metrics, such as likes and shares, the impact score places the focus on the content creator’s input.
The Impact score of a post is calculated by analysing:
-
the number of hashtags
-
the number of @ handles, and
-
the amount of text and special characters (emojis).
By taking these factors into account, we can determine how likely a post is to grab users' attention and drive engagement. A post that was created using high effort is generally more likely to have these effects.
At amaSocial, an impact score above 40 is considered a good score.
A good game plan considers the opponent it will be up against. The same goes for social media strategy! Read our blog, Why New Brands Need Competitor Benchmarking.
